Admissions

What are the admission requirements?+

Requirements vary by program. Generally, you'll need:

What is the application deadline?+

Application deadlines vary by program:

  • Medical School (MD): October 15 (early decision), December 1 (regular)
  • Nursing Programs: January 15 (Fall), September 1 (Spring)
  • Public Health (MPH): March 1 (priority), May 1 (final)
  • MBA Programs: Rolling admissions with April 1 priority

Can I apply to multiple programs?+

Yes, you may apply to up to two programs simultaneously. Each program requires a separate application and fee. If admitted to both, you must choose one program before enrollment.

How long does the admission process take?+

Typically 4-8 weeks from completed application to decision. Early decision applicants receive responses within 4 weeks. You can track your application status through the Student Portal.

Academics

What degree programs are offered?+

We offer programs across four schools:

  • School of Medicine: MD, MD/PhD, GME residencies
  • School of Nursing: BSN, ABSN, RN-to-BSN, MSN, DNP, PhD
  • School of Public Health: MPH, MHA, DrPH, PhD
  • School of Business: MBA, EMBA, MS in Healthcare Analytics
What is the class schedule like?+

Schedules vary by program. Medical students typically have lectures 8 AM - 12 PM, followed by labs or clinical rotations. Graduate programs often offer evening and weekend options for working professionals. Check the Academic Calendar for semester dates.

How do I register for courses?+

Course registration is done through the Student Portal. Priority registration opens in early April for continuing students. New students register during orientation. See your academic advisor if you need help with course selection.

What is the grading scale?+

We use a standard 4.0 GPA scale:

  • A = 4.0 (90-100%)
  • B = 3.0 (80-89%)
  • C = 2.0 (70-79%)
  • D = 1.0 (60-69%)
  • F = 0.0 (below 60%)

Medical school uses Pass/Fail for preclinical years and honors grading for clinical rotations.

How much is tuition?+

Tuition varies by program (2025-2026):

  • MD Program: $56,000/year
  • MSN/DNP: $42,000/year
  • MPH: $38,000/year
  • MBA: $45,000/year

We offer 50+ scholarships including:

90% of students receive some form of financial aid.

When should I apply for financial aid?+

Submit your FAFSA by March 1 for priority consideration. Institutional aid applications are due April 15. Aid packages are typically sent within 2-3 weeks of admission.

Are payment plans available?+

Campus Life

Is on-campus housing available?+

Yes! We have three residence halls with various room types. First-year students receive priority housing. Options include single rooms ($1,200/month), double rooms ($900/month), and apartments ($1,500/month). Apply early - housing fills quickly!

What dining options are available?+

Campus dining includes:

  • Main dining hall (all-you-can-eat)
  • Food court with 5 restaurants
  • Coffee shop in the library
  • Healthy options café in the fitness center
  • 24-hour vending in residence halls

Meal plans range from $1,500-$2,500/semester.

Is there parking on campus?+

Yes, we have 2,000+ parking spaces. Permits cost $50/month or $400/year. Free shuttle service connects campus buildings and nearby apartments. Electric vehicle charging stations are available in the main garage.

What student organizations exist?+

We have 40+ student organizations including professional societies, cultural clubs, volunteer groups, and recreational clubs. Popular ones include Medical Students Association, Nursing Leadership Council, Global Health Alliance, and intramural sports leagues.

International Students

Do I need English proficiency tests?+

Yes, if English is not your native language. We accept:

  • TOEFL iBT: minimum 100
  • IELTS Academic: minimum 7.0
  • Duolingo English Test: minimum 120

Waivers available for degrees from English-medium institutions.

How do I get an F-1 visa?+

After admission, we'll send your I-20 form. Steps:

  • Pay SEVIS fee ($350)
  • Complete DS-160 online
  • Schedule visa interview at U.S. embassy
  • Bring I-20, financial documents, and admission letter

Our International Student Office provides guidance throughout.

Can international students work on campus?+

Yes! F-1 students can work up to 20 hours/week on campus during school and full-time during breaks. After your first academic year, you may be eligible for Curricular Practical Training (CPT) or Optional Practical Training (OPT).

Is health insurance required?+

Yes, all international students must have health insurance. Our student health plan costs approximately $2,500/year and provides comprehensive coverage. You may waive this if you have comparable coverage from another provider.
