Pre-Surgery Checklist

  • Fasting Instructions: No food or drink after midnight
  • Medication Review: Discuss all medications with your surgeon
  • Blood Thinners: May need to stop 5-7 days before surgery
  • Pre-op Testing: Labs, EKG, imaging as ordered
  • Medical Clearance: From primary care if needed
  • Arrange Transportation: You cannot drive after anesthesia
  • Prepare Recovery Area: Set up comfortable space at home
  • Post-op Care: Arrange help for first 24-48 hours
